In December, boxing day in fact, I played at Breakfest in Perth (WA). It’s an awesome festival held in one of the best venues you’ll ever find, a huge natural ampitheater. This is my set from the day. You can find the full track listing in the info section on the Soundcloud player. I had so much fun putting this together & performing it on the day. I was even lucky enough to play at the legendary after-party at Ambar (one of my favourite clubs in the world). I highly recommend checking out Breakfest if you ever get the chance!

I released this original 2 track EP on Perth Based Rump Shaker Records.It’s a retro inspired EP that draws heavy influence from 2 step/Uk garage & old skool rave. It also turns out that this is my 100th & 101st official release!

Over the years I’ve been DJing the genre that I’ve probably played the most is House, even though I’ve made my name as D-Funk on the international level for funk & breaks. For a while I was making some tunes that didn’t really fit the D-Funk mood & wasn’t sure what to do with them or if they’d even see the light of day. I played them to a good friend Tim, over at Bloxbox Records, the label he co-run with the legend that is Brandon Block & they were excited about the tracks & asked me if I’d release them on their label. So the ‘Twist It EP’ was born! This is the first music I’ve ever ofically released as Doug Masters, which is my cunning entitled alias I’m using for my more housey material. I’m already working on the follow up EP…

I put together a cheeky little remix of the old skool rave classic ‘Don’t Go’ by Awesome 3 & had been playing it in my DJ sets to great reaction for a while, so when the guys at Free Breaks Blog mentioned the International Bass EP I was super keen to be a part of it & had just the tune for them.
