I’m so unbelievably stoked to be part of the huge Funk The World mix series put together by Fort Knox Five & Fort Knox Recordings, which showcases some of the finest funk based music from a across the planet. I put together a mix that features some of my all time funk favourites, some of my favourites from Grits N Gravy & a selection of my finest funky tracks.

In the first week of the mix being up on Mixcloud it cracked #1 on the Glitch Hop chart, #2 on the Breaks chart & #8 on the Funk chart!

A little while back I put out Blissed Out Beats the first in a series of more chilled mixes. I was playing the original house version of this amazing track ‘Brazil’ by Pirate Jams, which was released on Australian based label Klub Kids last year. I was thinking it would be great if there was a breaks version so I hit up Kid Kenobi (who runs Klub Kids) & asked if I could put one together & here it is! I virtually re-made the whole track, added extra synth/bass but tried to keep the old stool vibe of the original. Hope ya dig…

I’m super stoked to be heading back to Hobart in Tasmania to play at Secret Sounds Of The Underground 7th party alongside house music legend Anthony Pappa! I’ll be headlining The Beat Down room alongside local talent DJ Thensum, Dazema & MC Wombat, DJ Pressed & Rola. The big man Anthony Pappa will be holding down the Secret Sounds Of The Underground room & Organic Mechanics will be hosting the Psy Room.

It’s a secret party with the venue being announced on the day which makes it even more exciting!

It’s been a few years since I last played in Hobart so I’m really looking forward to heading down to the very southern part of Australia again.

Here’s another low slung house number/Nu disco number that I put together & release as Doug Masters, the alias I use for my more house orientated stuff. This one’s a deep & groovy tune that takes on an old disco jam that was also sampled by a couple of french artists a few years ago (those that know, will know). Once again I’m stoked to be making my way across the Pacific Ocean to the beautiful country of Canada to play at one of my favourite festivals Motion Notion!

Danio Management artists are out in full effect with Fort Knox Five, Stickybuds, Slynk, JPod, K+Lab, Wood N Soo & Qdup all also playing. This year the festival has moved to a new site in Merritt (BC) so I’m excited to see what the new venues brings & check out a part of Canada I’ve not been to before.

I’m really happy with how this EP’s sounding & with the cool/funky nu disco direction reflecting a lot of my DJ sets recently. These 3 tunes really spread across the genre from loopy & edit heavy (I Got The High), to funky & filtered (Everybody Loves A Filter) to a little deeper & electronic (Definition).
